Koh Phangan, land of the endless amount of parties. Literally every single day on the island you can find a party to go too whether its high season or low season on the island.
To be fair, there hasn’t been a party I have been to that I didn’t like in one way or another. With a variety of different parties to choose from you will certainly find one to cater to your party style. If you like reggae, pool parties, electronic dance parties or moon parties, the range of different party scenery on KP is unlike any other.
So, as listed, here are the best parties on Koh Phangan.
Jungle Party is my favorite party on the island. I love the vibes and authenticity of this crazy night. I gear up for everyone with glitter, gems, paint and the best crazy looking outfits I can find or make.
This is the party where you can best be yourself! Dress up in any way you like, be who you are. You will see outrageous and awesome costumes everywhere you go at Jungle.
With so many dressed up dancers, acrobats, laser displays, fire shows and great music this rave like party is everything you hope for and more. The neon décor that lines the jungle is memorizing to walk by. The dance floor has drum circles, magic shows and endless fire dancers putting on unforgettable shows!
With a main stage and a magical wooden bridge over a stream that takes you to the chill out zone when you need a break from dancing. There is also designated sleeping spots for when you need to take a cat nap before jumping into party mode again.
There are vendors where you can purchase tickets in order to buy your drinks. Be ready to have to pay 10 baht to use the bathrooms!
The only downside I find is that Jungle Experience is the day before the full moon party which can make for a hassle on choosing which one to go too. GO TO BOTH. Jungle is a 100 percent can’t miss party.
Entry Fee : At the door Jungle is 600 baht (19 USD)
Just like most of the major parties on Koh Phangan you can buy tickets at most hostels, some will offer taxi rides.

If you don’t come to the island for full moon it’s likely that you will be attending half-moon. In my opinion better than full moon, the psychedelic trance only event houses hundreds of party goers every month.
Half Moon happens every two weeks in the mist of the tropical jungle. Since it is a properly organized festival (unlike full moon) the atmosphere has a much more heightened vibe when walking through the gates. They have full time security incase anything happens which is a nice feeling when being at such a crazy festival. They also have proper bathrooms, you don’t have to pay for as well as food and drinks.
Half Moon offers three main stages, Tribal Stage, Funky Stage, Urban Stage. At the Tribal Stage DJ’s play there, spins until the early hours of the morning. This is the main stage that always show cases the biggest acts full of exotic dancers and fire shows. With a big dance floor, it’s the best section of Half Moon to get your dance on!
The Funky stage is the more mellow atmosphere of Half Moon, located right next to the bar it has a nice feel to it where they play house music and have a sitting area where you can sit back and watch the show.
Urban Stage is what everyone calls the cave. It is the first stage when you walk into the party and it is one you can’t miss since they do not play normal festival music.
Here they play R&B and hip-hop music. Clearly a different stage then the other two, this stage feels more like a High School grind fest than anything else but definitely brings a big crowd every time. If electronic music isn’t your forte, then this stage is perfect for you!
Half Moon is well worth the money and an overall great experience. Hands down, my second favorite party on the island!
Entry Fee : You are able to buy tickets at most hostels in Koh Phangan and some will give you a discount or offer a taxi ride to the party. The online price for tickets are 1390 baht (41 USD) and at the door they are 1500 baht (45 USD). The ticket includes 1 free drink and 1 neck strap.

A small festival every Saturday but nothing short of a great one. This is one of the parties I like most on the island because its different from all the rest. Hollystone attracts many locals and regulars that live and come to the island often.
It brings an older crowd so I wouldn’t say it’s for the youngsters that just want to get drunk, this party is one you should be attending to enjoy for the music. Come as who you really are early for the chill vibes or later at night to properly dance, Holystones motto is to support one another and to create a celebration of life.
Entry fee : Free
When : Every Saturday
Eden is one of the most loved parties on the island. Every Saturday night on its own secluded beach, Eden brings locals and expats coming back every week. You will have to take a long tail boat from Haad Rin to get to this party, but the money is well worth the festival you will encounter on the other end. With an older crowd then most of the other popular parties on Koh Phangan, Eden plays techno and rages on long past the morning hours.
They have a great atmosphere high up on a rocky hill where you can look over the ocean. Inside the party there is bars and places selling food. Eden has many options to sit and chill or spots where you can dance the night away.
Entry Fee : No fee to get into the party but you will have to pay for a long tail boat there and back. Last time I went to the party they were charging 300 baht there and 300 baht back. It is well worth the price if you know you are going to stay until morning and rage on!
When : Every Saturday night
Very similar to the Eden party and walking distance from it, Guys Bar is a fun atmosphere where the party never ends. Every Friday night starting at 9, Guys Bar has international DJ’s that play tribal/techno house music, the party doesn’t stop until the last man falls asleep. They have mattresses for those that want to sleep over or take cat naps while the night turns to dawn.
Guys Bar really does feel like a world away from Koh Phangan, it is its own secluded area where there isn’t tourist and the vibes feel more spiritual than anything else. What I love about this party is that the rules do not apply. You can dress how you want, dance how you want and be whoever you want!
Entry Fee : No entrance fee but you will have to pay for a long tail boat. I am assuming it will be similar prices to Eden. Last time I went it was 200 baht there and 200 baht back to Haad Rin!
When : Every Friday night
Rasta Home is my place of choice when I am over the electronic music and I just want to chill and listen to music I can sing too while I dance my heart out.
This reggae bar is the hippie spot on the island. They play live music every Fridays and people from all over the island come to enjoy the Thai bands as well as foreign singers that come through the doors to show off their reggae tunes.
You can hang out on the cushions and couches or you can dance the night away on the dance floor. They have fires outside for those that want to vibe to the music in a different way. A lively crowd comes every week and the atmosphere gives you a since of freedom through the smoky haze. (if you know what I mean)
Entry fee: Free
When : Open most days of the week but Fridays are live band night and the day you don’t want to miss out on!
Shiva Moon is a long-standing party on Koh Phangan where locals and regulars enjoy the trance beats all night long. A smaller venue then all the rest but it features 3 stages to dance the night away at. With professional entertainers and DJ’s it’s a party you don’t want to miss.
Entry fee : 500 baht and includes a welcome drink
When : Twice a month, one day before every half moon party. Check out dates here
For a more exclusive experience head to Haad Yao East to catch a long tail boat or 4X4 truck to take you to this secluded bungalow that plays underground music until early hours.
Enjoy an amazing spot to reunite all the people who wants to party far from the big parties and the commercial music. The concept is to bring together everyone who wants to share a moment of true magic on one of the most exclusive beach of the island for 20 hours. Lost Paradise is the place you go to find yourself and leave feeling a little bit different then before.
Entry fee : Free but a boat to get their will cost around 400 Baht

This is the party everyone always wants to come for because ita the famous one! I have done 9 Full Moons and I can say about 3 of those have been ones I want to remember forever. Yes, it is an ultimate party but totally a shit show. Full Moon is what you make of it and if you have a great group of people it will be an epic time.
I love full moon for people watching. Like seriously, you will see some crazy stuff happening on the beach of Haad Rin under the lit moon. They always say people go crazy on full moons, it is not a joke.
I often find myself sitting in the sand watching my surroundings and laughing at everything I am seeing. People trying to have sex in the waves of the ocean and failing epically, people passed out on the beach and some trying to play with fire “because they aren’t that drunk”.
It is definitely an experience of a lifetime and one I recommend anyone to check off their Asia bucket list. Regardless that it’s not my favorite party on the island, I find myself continuing to come back.
You can find your epic full moon survival guide HERE. Seriously people, you need a guide to make it though this party right!

Lose yourself at Mac’s Bay in trance music while you dance away the night on the beach of Ban Tai. When the moon is too dark to see this unique festival stays wild until all hours of the night. With fire shows, philatelic décor and endless amounts of buckets, Black Moon is a smaller gathering with a more chilled out hippie vibe then other moon parties.
Peace. Trance. Dance. These are the three words that Black Moon Culture lives by. What is nice about Black Moon is the lack of overcrowding. This party is one of the less populated of the moon parties and I am totally okay with that! Leaves for a much better experience when you can dance with space and enjoy a comfortable and vibrant atmosphere.
Entry fee : 600 baht

Two days before full moon and two days after, you get double the fun each month at Waterfall Party. This 12-hour party deep in the jungle surrounded by boulders and running waterfalls into a lazy river that wraps around the covered dance floor, this party is home to awesome DJ’s from around the world playing trance, house and electronic music.
Entry fee : You can order tickets online or buy them from hostels or at the gate. It is 600 baht per person and comes with a free drink.
When : Two day before and two days after full moon. Check the dates here
OAX beach hosts the infamous lighthouse party which happens once a week. This small gathering set a bit inland from the beach makes for a intimate dance party with every friendly party goer. A perfect place to catch the sunrise laying on the beach after endless amounts of dancing.
Entry fee : 400 Baht
When : Usually it is every Wednesday – unless Jungle Experience, Half Moon Party or Full Moon Party is on, in which case it changes. Find dates here
This unique party has you dancing all hours of the night through the waves. Loi Lay is the boat party of dreams. Every Sunday from 9pm to 6am this floating party features international guests and DJ’s that bring beats that are sure to make you dance until you drop.
What I like most is its friendly intimate atmosphere, allowing only 150 people on board. Loi Lay has comfortable seating and a dance floor to get lost in the famous House music.
Entry fee : Free before 10pm, after 10 it is 350 baht.
When : Most Sunday’s. Check the website for exit dates here
Maya party is similar to the other moon parties but it’s a bit smaller which brings everyone together under one party for an unforgettable night. You can expect fire shows, dancers, great sounds and DJ’s from around the world. The vibes and dance floor continue through to sunrise for a solid night of epic partying.
