The Best Beaches in Vietnam
When I first thought Vietnam, I figured mountains, lush Forrests and insanely unique culture. I would have never guessed this country would also have incredible beaches to explore.
I think one of the things I love most about this country is how different it really is. Vietnam has everything you could ever want in scenery, truly one of the most incredible countries I have ever seen. From beaches, hills and plaines to mountains, sand dunes and jaw dropping windy roads.
Vietnam is a country you do not want to miss out on, and please take the time to see then entire thing because you will be hella glad you did. BUT for my beach lovers here are the ones I suggest hitting up on your travels!
An Bang Beach, c An
Hoi An, a must see of Vietnams many cities, known for its shopping and tailor-made clothing along with its great beaches, An Bang Beach is just a bike ride away from the main town and offers many bars, restaurants and rich scenery lining its white sandy beaches.
Located 30 km from Da Nang International Airport, An Bang Beach is the perfect place to find a vast variety of activities. You can participate in kite surfing, swimming, parasailing, surfing as well as restaurant and spa options. Most visitors fly into Da Nang International Airport and take a motor bike or taxi to Hoi An. You can find bus or train options from most major cities.
Long Beach, Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc is perhaps one of the most well-known areas for beach bums in Vietnam. It is the largest island in Vietnam and has a variety of beaches to explore. Long Beach is a favorite though which stretches 20 kilometers.
White sandy beaches that stretch for miles with a cost line of palm trees, who wouldn’t want to spend an afternoon under the sun here! A lot of people enjoy renting bicycles and checking out the surrounding shops and beaches. Phu Quac is also known for its incredible cuisines, so be sure to eat your heart out in paradise!
Nha Trang
With a busier beach that attracts tourist from all over the world, you will certainly meet amazing people here. Nha Trang is well known for being the diving and sailing hub in Vietnam. Sailing is not a common attraction amongst Vietnam but in Nha Trang you are welcome to enjoy the ride! Due to Nha Trang being a popular destination for visitors there are many bus and train options from surrounding cities all over Vietnam.
My Khe Beach, Da Nanag
Another lush vibrant city in Vietnam is Da Nanag, with so much to do, and expats from all over, it is a stop off you don’t want to miss. My Khe Beach is a beach inside the stretch of white sand and turquoise water from Hoi An all the way to Monkey Mountain.
Buses and trains are offered from major cities in Vietnam as well. My Khe Beach offers kite surfing, swimming, parasailing, surfing, wake boarding, sunbathing, spa treatments and great eateries.
Mui Ne Beach
If you love sand, then Mui Ne is your can’t miss out on stay in Vietnam. With miles of sand dunes all over the city, Mui Ne is a perfect place for exploring. Mui Ne has always been the local fishing hub so you can easily see colorful round boats floating in the water and bringing back fish to sell to the markets. The beach of Mui Ne has beautiful white sand that makes your skin sparkle when it hits the sunlight and aqua water that is perfect for dipping into.
Ha Long Bay
It may not be the most epic beaches around, but it has some of the best views in all of Vietnam. Ha Long Bay is the most Northern beaches you can get to in this amazing country. In many tourist eyes, a natural wonder of the world, Ha Long Bay stretches for miles with thousands of limestone rocks and a view unlike any other.
You can find little beach stops in Ha Long City across the cost line. Sandy Bay Beach resort is a great place to lounge at the beach while taking in the breathtaking views of the bay.
Cat Ba Island
This little lively island sits inside the infamous Ha Long Bay. Just a short boat ride from Ha Long City, Cat Ba Island is an excellent place for exploring and beaching. Due to being in the North of Vietnam, you want to check this island out in the summer months for our beach lovers.
Cat Ba’s beaches are white thick sand and offer a dark green/teal color with endless limestone rocks you can easily get lost in. Off the beaches, you can rent long tail boats and check out Monkey Island and Lan Ha Bay which are smaller beaches inside Ha Long Bay but offer a quitter atmosphere if that’s what you are into.
A boat ride through Ha Long Bay’s lime stone rocks is the coolest and only way to get to this lovely island. Located 33km from Hai Phong Province and accessible from there, Hanoi or Ha Long City, Cat Ba is a quicker day of travel then most. Visitors are often seen eating at famous restaurants, kayaking around the beautiful rocks, paddle boarding, swimming and relaxing.
Bai Sao Beach, Phu Quoc
Phu Quac makes its appearance again, 30 minuets outside of Long Beach, Bai Sao is the quiet and beautiful place to check off your bucket list. Offering warm clear blue water and fine white sand that stretch as far as the eye can see, this instagramable worthy spot is top notch! If a relaxing day is what you are in search of then Bai Sao is where you will want to be. A much less touristy beach then all the others but one you will be glad to enjoy.
Quy Nhon Beach
This beach is great because of its laid back and beautiful landscape. A secluded beach that is becoming more popular by the month but easily still enjoyable to relax while watching the waves crash overlooking the endless clear turquoise water and white sand.
Cua Dai Beach
What we love most about this beach is its preserved beauty due to the UNESCO World Heritage site. Although it is populated with tourist, and does not come for free, it is still one of the most exquisite beaches in Vietnam due to its peaceful natural beauty, turquoise water, and jungle scenery. Located a bike ride from Old Town, Hai An, you will find plenty to do on the beach or inside the town.
