If you haven’t figured out by now how amazing Thailand is, keep reading posts by the people that express it the most. Thailand offers so much beauty across the entire country which makes it a destination for all types of scenery lovers but we all know Thalands main attachtion is its famous beaches.
Weather it is the secret ones, the most popular ones, the little coves or the ones you have to hike to, Thailand is your one stop shop for all the beaches you will never forget. Pick an island and there will surely be a beach on it to explore. After living in Thailand nearly a year these are the ones I cherish the most!
Perhaps one of the best beaches on this jam-packed island is Malibu beach which lies in Chaloklum. A walk over a small bridge takes you to the fine crystalized white sands of this beautiful heaven. The turquoise water and sand bar that reaches far out makes for a perfect snorkel day. The scenic background offers the mountains of Koh Phangan, many palm trees and people from all over the world playing and sunbathing.
If you are looking for a beach with incredible scenery, then Railay Beach is a must. With stunning lime stone cliffs and a white sandy beach that surround the island, it is hard to find yourself getting out of the crystal clear blue salty waters. A great place for exploring, Railay Beach has coves and caves for adventure seekers and if you are daring enough rock climbing is one of the must do activities here. Other activities include kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkeling.
A neighboring island which is a boat ride from Phuket lies the quite but incredible beach of Long Beach in Koh Lanta. The vibes here are a lot more mellow then Phuket’s where you can easily spend your days basking in the sun on top of curse white sand or floating in the salty blue oceans with the scenic views of Koh Phi Phi island in the background.
The polar opposite of Haad Rin and its banging Full Moon Parties, Haad Salad is just a tiny, quiet but perfect beach with a beautiful ride to get to it. Not very many tourist come here and most times you may see an older crowd hanging out on this beach. I spent many days on this beach snorkeling and lazing the day away, waiting for the next best sunset.
Another hot spot for snorkeling, and lounging the day away on the island that received its Turtle name, this beach has the best snorkeling I have ever seen and is packed with marine life of all types of colors. It its a surprise that many tourist come here to drive and be blown away by the sea’s beauty. There are rocks that line the shore for jumping off of or climbing on to have a better sunset view.
Located in Phuket, this beach stretches with its thick white sand and its turquoise wavy water. Phuket is a booming city where many tourists come to lavish in the culture of Southern Thailand’s beauty. With many hotels and restaurants around, there is plenty to do and see while spending a day here.
There is a reason Krabi has made the list again, this time a more remote beach then Railay and of course only accessible by boat, Phra Nang Beach is the perfect spot to relax, explore and rock climb. With the same exquisite waters surrounding this little beach and sand perfect for making castles. Once arriving at the beach kayaks and paddle boards can be rented along with rock climbing gear.
Thailand has always been known for its unbelievable sunsets, perhaps that is where Hat Pramong gained its beach name of Sunset Beach. Tourist flock from all over to check out Koh Lipe’s delicious seafood and sunsets. This beach is more laid back then some of the popular ones in Thailand but that’s what a lot of visitors like about it.
A more popular beach then the rest due to its cool walking sand strip from Haad Mae Beach to Koh Ma Island. During low tide you are able to walk in-between the sand bar and heck out the surrounding island. This island does not have much on it though but is a perfect place to snorkel, swim and catch the sunset. Haad Mae beach also has great swimming, snorkeling and kayaking areas. Restaurants line the beach with some shopping stops as well as beach front massage parlors.
A different beach from the rest and a lace to come to during all months of the yea for its scenery. “Khao Lak” literally means ‘Lak mountain’ and the name was given due to the unforgettable views surrounding it. Lush tropical mountains and tiny villages line these beautiful villages for a weekend get away you won’t forget.
