There is a reason Nashville is the music capital of the world. It truly brings out all the best music vibes. For example, when I stepped foot off my fight in Nashville, the first thing I could hear was live music. The bars in the airports had bands playing that ranged from country, blue grass and soulful sing along.
Although I have been to Nashville once before about 6 years ago this time was no different when it comes to the amazing vibes. I immediately felt at home, and let me tell you, everyone is so sweet and nice.
Obviously, I came to Nashville to explore and see a new city but I 100 percent went for the live music and to gain the real music city experience and that’s exactly what I did. Below are a list of my favorite bars on Honkey tonk Row
If you are looking for a local hang out – Tin Roof is your spot. This is one of the main bars the locals flock to for upbeat music and shots out of medicine cups. This stellar bar brings the best of both worlds with 2 stages, one in the front and one in the back which often play a variety of music and not just honkey tonk. Tin Roofs upstairs has a variety of arcade games and a replica of the G.O.T iron throne.
The upstairs lookout of old red is where it is at. The lower level is great too of course but the overview of Broadway and the people watching is always the best at the top of Old red. This bar gives off a more family friendly vibe and always has great music playing.
This is one of my all-time favorite places. There was something about the vibe of the music and how outgoing the musicians were really caught my attention. Every time I was there the crowd was entertained, engaged and going wild.
Some of the musicians at Red Neck Rivera even involve the homeless folk that are outside listening since it is an one air lower level which I found really thoughtful. The coolest thing I find about this bar is they give a portion of their proceeds to the families of fallen soldiers.
I came to Kid Rock bar after a Buffalo Bills game loss – which if you know any Bills fans, we are not happy campers when we lose. Even with a salty outlook on going out after the game we came to this bar and had an amazing time. Again, the atmosphere was killer.
The stage was filled with musicians playing old country tunes along with newer and original songs. The top of the bar is cool because it overlooks the bottom stage and wraps around the entire bar. Drinks are expensive but if you go for one it is worth the Nashville vibes for sure.
This is a unique bar/restraint with a roof top patio and is a mix between honky tonk as well as hipster. The food here is some of the best I have had in Nashville. ACME is a 4-level bar with each level offering something different. The roof top gives amazing views of the river and reach level will be having you want to come back for another round.
This might not be the best bar to go to during COVID but eventually when the pandemic hopefully settles, I would suggest hitting up Tequila Cowboy. This location is a hot spot for tourists because it has the only mechanical bull on Broadway. They also have a dance club at the top where you can feel free to get wild.
Nashville Crossroads is cool because they do not screw around when it comes to being on your phone instead of paying attention to the talented musicians they have playing on their stages. For real, my friend was asked to nicely put her phone away to enjoy the tunes of the music. Nashville Crossroads always has the best bands and singers booked so this is easily one of the best places to go to if you are looking for live music vibe.
A little bit more expensive than the rest…but let me tell you that it is totally worth a one-time try. It is no surprise that the name of the bar AJ Good Time Bar comes from famous singer Alan Jackson. This bar is known for playing the good old country music and often times have karaoke which is always a fun addition to any night.
What I love most about this bar is craft beer goes for market price, you heard me, you can actually buy delicious tasting beer for a decent price at Legends Corner Broadway. The location is great, it is never to crowded and they always have greet artist performing. They also have a patio bar that gives a good view for people watching.
Tootsies is likely the most iconic bar that Nashville has to offer. This is one of the longer standing bars on Broadway and is recognized for famous singers, song writers and performers not only playing at but going to have a bite to eat as well. Tootsies offers 3 mail stages of 3 different levels and some great music. My fav is of course the roof top bar.
There is always something about Nashville that is going to make me want to keep coming back. It might be the people, the food, atmosphere or live music but it is surely a place everyone should experience once in their lives. Enjoy Broadway and your time bar hopping! Let me know which place is your favorite.
