After living in Koh Phangan nearly a year I have made my way around the island in search of the best western eats. Although I am a sucker for curry and fried rice, I have a tendency to lean more towards my comfort foods and all-around western meals.
These 14 kickass western eats on Koh Phangan are my go-to spots on the island. I have managed to find a mix of amazing eateries from cafés, steak houses, and burger joints to Mexican food, healthy eats and even desert spots!
Koh Phangan is an island you can eat your heart out on, start at the top of my list and work your way down, or start at the bottom and work your way up whichever you decided to check off your list first, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
L’Acove is easily one of my favorite places to eat on Koh Phangan! Located right on the beach with plenty of scenery inside and out. As one of the more popular restaurants on the island, it always has people filtering through to try their delicious meals while watching the sunset over the horizon.
They often have a pianist playing classical music and there is a floating table in the water you can dine on, but you may have to make a reservation for this! L’Acove has fire shows and dancers performing on the beach for your entertainment most evenings.
This French own hot spot offers a variety of different foods such as salads, pasta, steak, duck, cheese boards and much more. The entertainment along with the atmosphere and views will make for a perfect night of delicious cuisine and unforgettable fun.

Bubba’s is hands down the best café on the island. They have mouthwatering food ranging from salmon, pulled port and ham bagels to avocado and eggs benedict. They also have a healthier side to their menu that offers acai bowls, granola, yogurt and salads.
Of course Bubba’s is a popular hot spot for breakfast and brunch so they always have many costumers from local hostels as well as regulars that use this as a meet up spot on the island.
Bubba’s is great for digital nomads or people looking for a nice work space too! There is plenty of seating, outlets and an overall atmosphere where coffee and work come together.
You don’t need to make a reservation, they have plenty of seating in the front, inside and outside in the back. If it is crowded and you need to wait for a table, wait, it will be well worth it!

This is easily my pub of choice. The gigantic beautiful structure doesn’t look like it belongs on the island. It looks like a pub was picked up from London and placed right in a random spot but nobody minds! It is the perfect place to go when you are feeling homesick or just want a western feel for the day.
The out door beer garden has people constantly coming to taste their IPA’s, ciders and local on tap selections for the perfect buzz.
Mason Arms offers all the best English comfort foods from barley and mash, pot pies, Sunday roasts (everyday) and mouth watering English breakfast. The huge menu will have you flipping through for while trying to pick out the best choice.
You can find a pool table and darts to play while you wait for your delicious meal or if you want a nice hang out spot with friends for drinks, either way Mason Arms will gladly fulfill all your needs.

If you are looking for a jam-packed menu with Mexican/Western food, great happy hour deals, constant evening events and a view of the ocean for miles then this is the place to be.
Casa Tropicana is the only place on the island I can find deviled eggs and boy did that make me grin hard. I never got sick of the burritos, tacos, burgers or breakfast either!
The comfy cabana style seating and their two dog friendly companions made me keep coming back for daytime and night time fiesta’s. The owners made a great impression the first day I checked this place out, a fellow American who is genuine and really wants their customers feeling satisfied.
I can also say that the people who work here are incredible! They are fun, speak impeccable English and are all around lovely people to be around.
Casa Tropicana is located in Baan Thai and offer housing in addition to their great atmosphere and incredible view. Casa has private rooms and dorms for those that want to stay at a perfect place for a reasonable price.
They offer paddle board and kayak rentals for 250 baht an hour as well a jet skis! My favorite activities Casa Tropicana provides are the FREE Sala dancing lessons as well as FREE yoga twice a week!
If you couldn’t tell… I am a sucker for Casa!

SOHO is a British run bar located in Thong Sala across from the Pan Tip Night Market. It’s a perfect place for people watching as they have open windows overlooking the night market.
SOHO is a great place if you are looking for an epic burger or some Mexican food. They also have unforgettable breakfast options.
Not only that but this bar sells craft beer and imported ciders that you won’t find anywhere else on the island. The vibe is friendly and welcoming with tasty food, especially those of you that are meat lovers.

Crave is a well-known Canadian owned restaurant in Surathanu that serves all the best comfort foods. They offer wraps, burgers, salads, vegetarian options and much more.
In my opinion, the best thing that Crave offers is their home-made sauces. My favorites are their ranch, honey mustard and blue cheese. Get your fix of them because they are very hard to find while traveling in Asia.
They also offer the classic Canadian Poutine with cheese curds and gravy. You can wash all the delicious food down with their homemade pink lemonade or other refreshing drink options as well.
Crave also has a stellar night life, with lounge seating or regular seating, a pool table and other games you can play while eating or relaxing.

If you are in search of fine dining on the island this is the place to be! Peppercorn imports cuts of meat from around the world including New Zealand fillet, Argentinian tenderloin and Wagyu Beef.
This steak house is located near one of my favorite beaches (Haad Salad) and is high enough in altitude that you can have a view of the jungle as well as the beach for a scenic dining experience.

Ando Loco is a Mexican themed bar and restaurant on the island owned by an awesome American fella from Chicago. He has spent the last 14 years perfecting Ando’s homemade recipes. They serves a plethora of Mexican food from tacos, burritos, enchiladas, guacamole as well as their famous salsa!
Every Saturday Ando offers 35-baht tacos. Stop over and try their famous fish taco or choose from ground beef, chorizo, chicken and vegetarian options.
The open atmosphere has plenty of seating, some hammocks and a pool table where you can take your Mexican experience to the next level.
Be careful though, Ando’s rule for pool is that you always play better with a margarita in your hand! Ando has the best margarita I have tasted in Koh Phangan, he offers many flavors and sizes to cater to what you fancy.

Ando offers build your own beef and vegetarian options. His Canadian friend also has given the burger bar a great poutine recipe tailored to you’re liking. This bar offers great drinks and is open evenings for those late-night owls.

Seed to Feed is your healthy go to spot on the island. Everything is locally grown right in the back yard of the restaurant. Seed to Feed is GAP certificated by the Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand & moving forward to develop the farm Eco system on Koh Phangan.
Their unique menu offers an assortment of different salads as well as vegan options. The restaurant has been booming since it opened last year. It is the healthiest place you can eat in Koh Phangan. The atmosphere and décor create a chill vibe all around the spacious place to enjoy your meal.

Sweet N Salt is very much exactly what the title explains. They have everything including breakfast, lunch and desert. This French owned café has been exploding with people since its opening in 2018.
Sweet N’ Salt is by far one of the best cafés on the island, with charming staff and delicious food, it has become a popular spot for tourist and locals.
Sweet N’ Salt is the best place on the island for homemade cakes or deserts that you can have made for any event you need! Birthdays, anniversary and holidays, Sweet N Salt will tailor their deserts to what you need!
It is located right across from Phangan International Hospital, it can be hard to find as there are many plants and bushes in front.

This is one of the newer eats on the island. I only discovered it after coming back to Koh Phangan but boy am I happy I did.
This French owned pizza and salad bar is perfect for anyone! The owners are extremely kind and really want to get to know you on arrival. Make It has custom pizzas and salads of all different kinds but perhaps the best aspect they offer is the create your own option!
For pizzas you can choose your sauce base and as many toppings as you want. For Salads you can choose between pasta, potato or lettuce options, you can also mix and match between all three! With a variety of fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and dressings it is easy to make the perfect pizza or salad of your choosing.
Whatever combinations you decided it is surely to be exactly what you want in a delicious meal. Make It is a place I continuously ate at due to their salad bar. It is hard to find a good salad on the island let alone one you can create yourself!
They also offer a rewards system, the first time you eat at Make It they give you a card, each time you go they will punch it and once you fill it up you get a free meal!
